A ROYAL DINNER
TO EMPIRE DELEGATES
BRILLIANT SCENE

LONDON, 3rd October.
Their Majesties gave a dinner at Buckingham Palace to the Empire Prime Ministers who are attending the Imperial Conference.....■• The. King and Queen received 120 guests of the "Empire family party" in the music room. In addition to. .the Dominion Premiers, who are the chief delegates, 'and their wives,' there were present Sir Thomasand Lady Sidey, Sir Thomas and Lady "Wilf ord, Sir Granville and Lady Eyrie,' and a distinguished company of British quests,' including Mr." Earnsay Mac Donald, Miss Ishbel Mac Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Baldwin, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd George. Navy, Army, and Air Force representatives were also present. ■'■"''' The guests passed through the Blue Drawing-room to the great ballroom, where dinner was served. / Masses;-of gold chrysanthemums decorated the table, and soft lights from candelabra shone on the magrfificent gold plate on which he dinner was served. The Kinfr and Queen sat opposite the middle of the long table. The Prince of ! Wales, tho Duke of York, Princess [Mary, the Earl of Harewood, the Duke of Connaught, and Prince and Princess Arthur of Connaught were intermingled with visitor? from the Dominions.
The Queen wore a gown of sapphire blue and silver paillette with a diamond tiara and collar in which the Kohinor diamond was includ I with lesser stars.
A string band played throughout tha dinner, and afterwards the Scots Guards and pipers provided the music.
This is the first occasion on which the Dominion delegates, besides tho Prime Ministers, have been honoured with invitations to : Their Majesties* dinner. . . ■'. ■ .'..'. : ,
