STELLA MURRAY
Since Miss Stella Murray, the New Zealand contralto, made a successful tour'-ol the Dominion five years ago, she has been singing with outstanding success in London, the Provinces, Scotland, and Ireland. Bliss Murray' is the possessor of a good many natural and acquired gifts that account for her popularity and the position she occupies in the concert world in London. She has a beautiful contralto voice, which has been most carefully and completely trained, and her charming manner at once puts her on friendly terms with her audience. "One of the distmgj. uishing qualities of Miss Murray's singing, says a critic, 'is its sunniness and buoyancy. Another is her infallible appreciation of the nature of each theme. She is perfectly marvellous in creating and sustaining the true atmosphere, and every song has its individuality." Miss Murray js giving a series of.recitals during, her stay in New Zealand, and her Wellington concert will be- held in the Town Hall on Thursday, 16th October. The box plan opens on Friday, 40th October, at The Bristol, where information may be obtained in regard to special concessions for students. -
