STABBED WITH KNIFE
SUMMER TIME BEGINS
YOUNG WOMAN MURDERED
AFFAIR ON DARTFORD HEATH
LONDON, 12th ApriL A curious murder took place on Dartford Heath, near London. Evelyn Parker, aged 23, was walking with her younger sister Joan across the heath when a man sprang out from some bushes, pushed Joan aside, and stabbed Evelyn in the back with a knife. The blade penetrated her j heart. The murderer then instantly disappeared. Search by a large force of police, civilians, and detectives discovered the knife in the bushes. Later, Albert Edward Margeram, of Belvedere, was detained at Erith. Margeram, who was charged with murder at Dartford Police Court, was remanded till 17th April. When astajd to pleud, he said: "I am j very sorry it occurred; I never in-! tended to do any murder."
