DEATH OF A CHILD
KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWERA, 4th April. A verdict that Robert Bruce M'Nae, aged 4-i years, succumbed from a fractured skull received as the result of being struck on Monday by a car driven by Laurenco Milton Julian, motor servico driver, was returned by the Coroner at the inquest to-day. The evidence, he said, indicated that the driver did all possible to avoid the accjdent, which was caused by the inadvertence of the child.
The accident occurred at 5 o'clock hi a street in Opunake. The child who was on the side of the roadway with his brothers, ra-' across just as tho car approached. He died in hospital the same evening without having regained consciousness.
