The Chinese of Wellington connected with, the Anglican Chinese mission on Tuesday presented the Eev. i\ B. Bedgrave with a handsome clock as a token of their esteem. The Chinese missioner, Mr. Wong Tsz-tong, made the. presentation. Mr. Redgrave leaves for the South to-night, to take charge of the parish of Fendalton, Christchnrch.
A Timaru labour agent recently informed a reporter that not enough men wore offering to take up the positions vacant for goneral farm work in South Canterbury. He stated that a large number of farmers had positions to offer, and were surprised that their demands for purely unskilled labour were not being met, ■'■'•■--'•"••"'■-■•" •'
