GOOD BAGS REPORTED

Although the shooting season only opened on Wednesday, some good ba<rs have already been reported to the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, and the indications arc that the season- will be a very successful one.

Following are some of the bags obtained on the Ma.nawa.tu lakes-— Levin: Three guns, 36 ducks; one gun, IS ducks; two guns, 27 ducks. Tokomaru: Three guns, 21 ducks. Collinson's lagoons, Karere: Two guns 72 ducks (two days); three guns, 2S ducks; two guns, thirteen ducks, ihompson's Lagoon, Kairanga: Four guns, 50 ducks. AVilson's and Dalrymple's Lakes, Himitangi: Eight guns, 123 ducks (two days); nine guns, 16i ducks (two days); fifteen guns, 194 ducks (two days); two guns, 52 ducks (two days). In the Rangitikei district the following ducks were shot in one day: Lake Beamish, 130; Lone Island, 50; Lake- Alice, 40; Knox Lake, 70; Smith Brothers' Lake 74Heaton Park, 50; Lake Mount, 2S; mouth of Turakina River, 61.
