Ihe Hon. T. M. Wilford spent the week-end at the Grand Hotel, Hasting, as the guest of the Hawkcs Bay Aero Uub. While there, he was motored to see Mr. Wildred Stead's stud, at the former home of the late Sir William Russell, "Flaxniere," Hawkes Bay, and also to see Mr., H. M. Campbell's beautirul home and property, where the Right Hon. J. G. Coates was spending the week-end as a guest. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. J. G. Cobbe) will leave on Monday on a visit to Poha"gma, Raumai, Moutai, and Apiti. Tho Minister of Labour, Mines, and transport (the Hon. W. A. Yeiteh) will return from Wanganui to-morrow. The Minister of Lands (the Hon. G. \v. lorbes) left this morning for New Plymouth. Prom there he will proceed in turn to Te Kuiti, the Waikato, Auckland, Kagla.ii, Franklin, Hauraki and Thames districts. He expects to Mov™ t0 Wclli"Ston about the 22nd At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association last night the chairman (Mr. A. Wells) referred to the loss the game had sustained through the deaths of the late Sir Charles Skerrett, Mr. L. O. Atkinson, and Mr. W. Auld, and mentioned the wholehearted interest they had taken m tho game. A vote of sympathy « nil the surviving relatives was passed. Mr. U. Coxhead, of the Mount Cook Motor Company and Tongariro Park lourist Company, will leave shortly for a trip to England, Canada, and America. J-t is Mr. Coxhead's ' intention to make a close study of the methods employed m those countries in the matter of tourist and transport services.
