KINGSFORD SMITH READY United Service. SAN FRANCISCO, 19th May. Cftptain Kingsford Smith stated that his monoplane Southern Cross was ready for the proposed flight to Australia. . "All that remains is to iet the date fpr departure," said Captain Smith. ""We have not decided, when we will take off, but it will be in the near future." . Captain Smith declared that his trimotored F/okker machine had completed the test flights. A start will be made from Mills Field.
