BROOKLYN CLUB
The Brooklyn Harriers held a novice race from the Miramar terminus, 10 runners entering. The course was approximately three miles. Hewitt, the limit man, led for the first mile, closely followed by Hull, Tamblyn, and Lambert. Then Tamblyn took the lead, but was again displaced by Hewitt. At the Gasworks D. Betrie, who was a back-marker, came to the fore, and took the lead for the rest of the race, to finish an easy first. His time was 19min 32sec. E. T. White was second and H.E. Knowles third. Fastest time was made by the scratch man, A. Sime, ISmin 55sec, with H. E. Knowles (19min 2sec) second fastest. The limit man was conceded lmin 20sec.
