HOME, 7th June. The Chamber of Deputies was crowded fov a special sitting to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the. King's Accession. A proposal in favour of conferring the Military Medal for valour on His Majesty was adopted, 'and tho proceedings were enthusiastic.
The Diplomatic Corps visited the King and conveyed their congratulations. Three deputies, representing respectively the People's Party, tho Democrats, and tha Liberals, constituting the Constitutional opposition, also x'roceeded to the Quirinal and presented an address of homage.
The. city was befiagged and illuminated.
Delegations arc pouring in from all parts of Italy for the purpose of 1,-ikiii" part in the celebrations.
King Victor Emanuel, who is 55 years of age, succeeded to the throne on the death of Ins father on 29th July, 1900 The King distinguished himself as a soldier, and greatly added to his reputation by giving up tho greater part of Ins private domains to tlio Slate.
