LONDON, 23rd July. The Morning Post's correspondent on the French front state that the French commanders pay a tribute to the British units which are co-operating at Reims and on other sectors. . - - Airmen rendered particularly gallant service. French airmen performed a brilliant feat at Pourcy, where a battalion became cutoff. The aeroplanes dropped bread and biscuits and 250 boxes of beef among the troops, along with ammunition, enabling them to hold out until a counter-attack relieved them. The resistance of the Germans east of Courchamps is regarded, as an indication that.they are in full retreat. The counter-attacks are.merely desperate rearguard actions. , French airmen are constantly worrying the columns retreating northwards. Th^ French have adopted a new method of attack. They have abandoned preliminary bombardments, relying mainly on tanks, which closely follow the barrage.
