PARLIAMENT
TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL The Legislative Council resumed at 2.30 p.m. to-day. Certain amendments in the New Zealand Loans Amendment Bill were agreed to. The Savings Bank Amendment Bill, the Fruit Preserving Industry Amendment Bill, the Scenery Preservation Amendment Bill, the Swamp Drainage Bill, the National Provident Fund Amendment Bill, and the War Funds Bill were read a firet time. The lastnamed Bill was also read a second time (pro forma) and referred to the Statutes Revision. Committee. The Council adjourned at 2.45 p.m. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House of Representatives sat at 2.30 p.m. to-day. Mr. J. Anstey read a telegram from Ngapara stating that the residents there were without water. The Prime Minister said he would consult the Minister for Railways in regard* to the carriage of water. Replying to Mr. R. M'CaJlum, the Hon. A. M. Myers said that it had been agreed that the report of the Munitions Conference should be circulated confidentially in approved quarters, but he had not approved of it being circulated broadcast. Four days' leave of absence Was granted to Mr. J. S. Dickeon on account of urgent private business. > (Proceeding.
