NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL OLYMPIC REPRESENTATION.

The Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met laet evening. Mr. A. Marryatt presided, and there were also present : Messrs. B. Guiee, J. Cusack, C. E. Bridge, A. Chaffey, W. Larkin, Thompson, Crouch, and Davies. . The Olympic Council, of New. Zealaiid forwarded the following resolution, which had been carried at a meeting held last month : — "That with a view to establishjag a permanent New Zealand Olympic fund, this council communicate with the governing bodies of all sports interested., recommending a nominal annual subecription of (say) 6d per club member, and suggests that such sum could be collected as a registration fee I or otherwise as may be deemed deeir- [ able." It was decided to send copies on to the centres for cfineideration and early reply. In connection with the Olympic Games it was resolved "That this council is Btrictly opposed to separate representation for New Zealand. — A copy of this resolution is to be forwarded to the Olympic Council for New Zealand. Coombes, of Sydney,' advising the council that the visit of the Canadian athletes was deferred for the tune being, but stating there was a probability of a team from the Pacific Coast visiting Australia and New Zealand, it was decided to inform the Australian Council that the New Zealand Council was in favour of a visit of, say, five men. It Was decided to inform the, centres accordingly, and Messrs. Marryatt, Guise, and the secretary were appointed a committee to consider ways and means. The annual meeting was fixed for Monday, 25th November.
