Ono of tho dmx-ttirs'of Hi-- Orient Steam Xavignti6n Company, when question by a representative of the Melbourne Ago, gave soni-a inteiostfttß particulars regarding the live new .steamers which ho [and his . colleagues have undertaken to build specially for thr .\ustialian mail service. "Our new boats,", ho wnid, "will be -more than the 11,000 lons each contracted for under the new mail contract; and the refrigerating space which they will each provide will exceed the 2000 tons mentioned in the contract. The vessels will represent all tho. improvements &f naval architecture down to date. The main feature of the improvements from, a passenger's point of view will bo the lifting of our passenger accommodation right up. The saloon accommodation will be on tho upper and two promenade decks. There will bo a tremendous improvement in the second clas-s accommodation. Generally speaking, the second elas3 cabins, saloon, etc., will very nearly approximate to what th-s first class are now. Then, the third class accommodation will be a great feature. There will be a -third class dining saloon on the main deck, and ths cabins will be greatly improved. Indeed, the laTge majority of cabins will be what are called 'deck cabins."
