LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. The following Bills were read a first time: — Kaiapoi Native Reserve Bill, Coalmines Acts Compilation Bill, and Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Acts Compilation Bill. (Left sitting.) HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. A petition was presented by Mr. Ell praying for the abolition of the totalisator. TO-DAY'S BUSINESS. The debate on tho Premier's land tenure proposals will be continued this evening.
