SUICIDE OF A YOUNG MAN.
♦ [BY TEI/jJOIIArH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Ddnbdin, 21st Soptember. At Mornington this morning Harry Hubert Norman, aged 20, son of Mr. H. F. Norman, Government Inspector ot Works, shot himself through the heart. The young man left home at about half-past 8 o'olock, and went to town, returning home a little after 11 o'clock. He went to his bedroom, and shortly afterwards a shot was heard by Mrs. aud Miss Norman. His mother and sister immediately rushed into the room, aud there saw young Norman lying on the bed, apparently dead, with a revolver bullet wound in his breast. For some considerable time past the deceased has suffered much pain from an injured arm, caused by a horse falling on him. Ho left the following note, which was written iv pencil at 11.30 a.m. to-day :— " Tho pain from my arm has driven me mad. I ciiunot put up with it any longer. It has affooted me mentally. Nobody knows what I have suffered through it. Say good-bye to Rose for me. Tell her not to worry. I may see her some day where we shall have no pain. Good-bye— H.N." At the inquest v verdict was returned to tho effect that the deceased committed Suicide while Temporarily Insane.
