At a gonorol meeting of tho City Club's Match Committees, held last night, the resolution passed at tho meeting on the 17th ult,, rogarding the Edwin Feathers Matches, was rescinded, and on Captain Edwin explaining his wishes when presenting these badges for competition, that matohes should bo recognised ns essentially Club against Club and not team against team gomes, it was decided that if a match between two Clubs bo Rtaned and a finish be prevented by weather or other causes, it should be competent, if the holdois of the Fcathera be put down during tho week by a team in their own Club, that tho winning team represent tho Club and take the place of tho team playing on tho previous Saturday, and continue the game at the point where it stopped. The suggested Single-handed Championship Match having been agreed upon by tho Cluba, the matter was discussed at length, and a set of rules adopted, a copy of which will bo sent to oaoh Club. Briefly, thoy are as follows: — The vurious players entering in each Club to play off among themselves till reduced to j four, tho remaining fours to ineot on 22ud Jumuiy un the Wellington Oreun (subject to luo approval of the Directors) to play off the finul, winners against/ winners ; all bowls to be tested to No. 3 bias ; heads to be 21 up, and entrance fco 2s 6d. The Wellington Club inlonds opening its season on the 30th instant with a match (weather permitting), tho Club agiiinst all-comera. The annual meeting of tho Northern Bowling Association comes off on. the 2nd October, whon it is also proposed to discuss tho programme for thp January Tourlament in Auckland. Tho Clubs thoro | have decided to hold *ho Tourney on tho Auckland and Ponsonby Greens.
