The Kailway Department advertises in this issue particulars of a special dajr excursion being run from the Cheviot branch to Christchurch next Saturday. A special train will leave Parnassus at 7.0 a.m., arriving at Christchurch 10.16 a.m., and leaving Christchurch 6.10 p.m. Thus residents on the Cheviot branch are afforded an excellent opportunity of seeing the Aus-tralia-Canterbury Rugby match- __
