. ■ - . ? J*? r { FIRST SECTION NEARLY FINISHED (PRESS ASSOCIATION TEXJEGBAM.) WELLINGTON, September 11. The preparation of ..special maps for the use of flyers is being, undertaken by . the Lands and Survey Department, according to the report on survey work of the department, which was presented to Parliament to-dajr. The report indicates that during the year which ended March 31, 1936, the department, in collaboration with the aerodrome branch of the Public Works Department, started work on flying maps for the whole Dominion. The Dominion has been dlvided into six strips for survey, the report states, and the first ’map, the main feature . of which is the .flying route from Auckland to Palmerston North, is- practically finished. The Opinion is that the maps should meet a long-felt want and be of great benefit to flyers.
