Don Bradman will be one of me three selectors who will choose the Australian test teams this season. Messrs A. Dwyer (New South Wales) - and W. Johnson (Victoria) were reappointed selectors. The Board of Cricket Control to-day decided that the assistance of police should be obtained to control barracking at all international cricket matches in future. CANTERBURY UMPIRES’ ASSOCIATION ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Canterbury Umpires’ Association held recently was presided over by Mr P. D. Mansell, who congratulated the members on their successful efforts in the 1935-36 season. He also welcomed Mr W. L. King, chairman, and Mr J. L. Kerr, of the Canterbury Cricket Association, and Mr D. Ryan, formerly of Auckland. It was decided unanimously to recommend that Mr Mansell be elected the first life member of the association on his retirement from active service. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr T. W. Burgess; vice-presi-dent, Mr W. W. Dunkley; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr G. S. E. Donaldson; committee, Messrs R. K. Hawkings, R. Coleman, H. Wilson, and J. McGuinness; grading committee, Messrs T. W. Burgess and R. K. Hawkings: delegate to Canterbury Cricket Association, Mr G. S. E. Donaldson. SYDENHAM COUNCIL CLUB At the annual meeting of the Sydenham Council Cricket Club, the following officers were elected;— Patron, Mr W. Morris; president, Mr J. Prebble; vice-presidents, Messrs W. E. Stlckings, W. McCoy, R. Lawrence, W. E. Munday, F. Webb-, G. Pearce, and the Rev. J. K. Archer; chairman, Mr W. Main; secretary-treasurer, Mr B. D. Fraser; committee, Messrs L. Clarkson, C. Wilkie, H. Pratley, A. Philpott, G. Fraser; delegate to Christchurch Suburban Cricket Association, Mr B. D. Fraser; auditor, Mr L. Clarkson; custodian, Mr H. Pratley; captain, vice-captain, and another to be elected later. Opening day will be held on October 3.
