A CHILD'S DEATH.
ENQUIRY BY CORONER.
(PRESS 'ASSOCIATION TELBQBAM.) DUNEDIN, June 8. An enquiry into circumstances surrounding the death of Graeme William McDonald, aged three years, who died yesterday at the home of his aunt, Mrs Bain, 178 Macandrew road, South Dunedin, was held at the Dunedin Hospital this afternoon before Mr J 11. Bartholomew, Coroner. Mrs Bain said the lad commenced to cry on Wednesday night, complaining of pains in the stomach. He then vomited and went into a semi-conscious condition; A doctor was summoned immediately, but did not 'arrive. Meanwhile, every attention was given the sufferer, and at midnight Mr Bain went for the same doctor, but could not get in touch with him till 6 a.m. yesterday. The doctor arrived at 6.45 a.m., shortly after the boy had expired. The child had always been healthy. Dr. Bath, pathologist at the hospital, who performed the post-mortem, said he found the body well nourished. Ho considered • death was . due to strangulation of a portion of the bowel. The Coroner returned a verdict m accordance with the, medical testimony, no blame being attachable to the Bains. '.'.'.'■
