VICTORIA PARK.
TO THE EDITOR OF THK PRKSS. Slß,—Permit mc, through the medium of your valuable columns, to say a few words with regard to the* unfair canvassing of business men now going on in the city. Only this morning I was waited upon by a Sydenham gentleman with a subscription list for the Victoria Park, and being connected in business with this personally benefited tout one finds oneself compelled to subscribe. So let mc warn those of your readers who are not so unfortunately placed as myself to consider, before giving to a scheme that, while it might tend to raise the value of property in Sydenham and benefit those who live in the vicinity, is about twenty years in advance of the times. Would not a public swimming bath be a far more practical scheme, and one that would be appreciated by the public of Christchurch and abenefitto the whole community? —Yours, &C,
Common Sense.
