THE HISTORIC FLAG.
TO TUB EDITOR OF TKE PBESS. Sir, —It was announced in the papers that a beautiful silken banner, which was carried sixty years ago in the procession at the Queen's coronation, was to be carried by one of tho Queen's Cadets, who was to act as 'standard bearer in the procession on Record Reign day. I did not see it, so I enquired about it, and was told that the Commander of the Cadet battalion objected to it being carried. I don't think that the Commander, showed his loyalty towards our Queen. Perhaps it was not military, but it •would not hurt on such an occasion, besides it would have made the celebration a greater success. I heard several people remark, "I have not seen that silk flag yet." Thanking you for this valuable space, and hoping the Commander will know better next Jubilee, Yours, Sec,
Disgusted Englishman,
