FAILED TO STOP.
AFTER HITTING TRAMCAR. COMPANY MANAGER FINED. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Colliding with a tramcar. cannoning into a small car and then failing to stop may prove costly to Thomas Leslie aged 42, comqtany manager. It was stated in the Supreme Court that tie damage to the other car was £4 7/6 and to the tram £i 3 11/6, and it was understood that repairs to the car Leipst was driving will cost £50 18/, the insurance policy being suspended when the car was used for private purposes. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, sentenced Leipst to a fine of £10. Leipst was also ordered to pay coete £2 7/8 and his licence was cancelled, another not to ibe issued for the first six months of the next licensing period. His Honor said he took into account the fact that a charge of negligent driving was pending-
