OBITUARY.

MR. WILLIAM SCOTT.

EMPLOYERS' ADVOCATE. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The death has occurred of Mr. William Scottp aged 79, who since his retirement from the position of employers' representative on the Court of Arbitration in 1928, has been engaged as librarian by the Employers' Federation. Early in 1896, two years after the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act came into operation, Mr. Scott conducted the first case before the Court. From that time to his retirement he was associated with the Court. For 15 years he acted as advocate for the employers. conducting all the principal disputes throughout the Dominion in every trade and industry. In 1910 Mr. Scott was appointed employers' representative on the Court.
