CARE OF SOLDIERS.
REMEDIAL TREATMENT. Various matters relating to the care of soldiers were discussed by the Hospital Hoard last evening. The Director-Oneral of Health, Dr. \f. If. Watt, advised that the Army Department, had decided that men examined for the Expeditionary Force, and classed as temporarily unfit, would he provided with remedial treatment at the Government's expense, but the arrangement would not apply to men classed as temporarily unfit for the Territorial Force. In connection with the building of the Soldiers' Hospital at the Auckland Domain the Director of Hospitals, Dr. R. A. Shore, advised that it was projmoed to have a gymnasium added and to make various alterations in connection with the theatre block. Artificial dentures for discharged soldiers was referred to in a report received from tl.e Director-General of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, who said that it was desired to arrange for the provision of dentures for soldiers who had had their teeth extracted in mobilisation camps, hut who had been t*uhse<|uently discharged before they coul<l be provided with dentures. It had been requested that the work should be carried out at the public hospitals. On the recommendations of the finance committee it was decided to reply that the board could not accede to the request.
