MAORI MOTORIST FINED.

Found by a police constable in a car while in a drunken condition, Te Akati Tohara, a Maori, of Mokai, appeared before justices in the Rotorua Police Court yesterday charged with being intoxicated l while in charge of a car.. Defendant wa« fined £10 aild.had his license cancelled for twelve Mouths.
Sergeant Tocher;said Constable Qnirke had seen li.'.Mitiifj, Who w«« worse for liquor, approaching a ear and start to drive it aw«y. The- coijstaJWpstopped him and found that, in "addition to several paMingers,. there wm a quantity of liquor in the oar. Had accused not been arrested a serious' accident' might have taken place.
