EMPIRE VETERANS.
ANNUAL CHURCH PARADE. Under the command of Captain J. A. Algie, the King's Empire Veterans held their annual church parade yesterday at St. Matthew's Church. The service was attended by about 40 members, who assembled at the corner of Pitt Street and Street and marched to the church, accompanied by the Auckland District Highland Pipe Band. The Rev. Canon E. G. Coats conducted the service. An interesting feature of the parade was the carrying of a standard recently presented by a member for ceremonial parades. The standard, which will be dedicated at a later date, is surrounded by a carved frame in Maori style with the name of the association emblazoned in the centre. A Maori figure is incorporated in the framework at the bottom of, the standard.
