HURRIED TRIP.
GOVERNOR OF FIJI.
'PLANE TO WELLINGTON. ARRIVAL BY AORANGI. Due to the late arrival of tile Aorangi from Vancouver to-day, sjiecial arrangement# have been necessary to allow the Governor of Fiji, Sir Harry Luke, to catch the Awatea from Wellington tonight. These arrangements included a special launch which met the vessel in the outer harbour, and the chartering of a special aeroplane.
The Auckland Harbour. Board provided a special launch, which met the Aorangi at North Head. His Excellency left the vessel on the launch and as soon as it arrived at the steps he transferred to a Union Airways car, which took him to the aerodrome at Mangere. There he left immediately in the Beechcraft aeroplane for Wellington.
Though the Awatea does not leave Wellington until 10 o'clock it was necessary for the aeroplane to leave Auckland in time to arrive at Wellington in daylight. The Beechcraft left Mangere about 2.30 p.m.
Hie Excellency was accompanied by Mr. C. W. T. Johnson, assistant Colonial Secretary at Fiji.
