INTERPRETATION OF WILL i BAROXETS BEQUEST TO SOX. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The share in the £2S0;OO0 estate left by the late Sir George Hugh Charles Clifford, Bart., of Stonylmrst, to provide an income for his son, Sir Charles Lewis Clifford, was declared? by -ilr. Justice Xorthcroft. in a reserved judgment delivered yesterday, to/be no>r vested in the testator's tliree daughters, the son having died without leaving issue. Subject to a trust to provide Lady Clifford, widow of the testator, with an income of £5000 a year. Sir Charles Lewis Clifford enjoyed the income from two-fifths of the estate, and each of the daughters the income from oue-fifth for life. The Court was asked to decide whether, on the death of Sir Charles Lewis Clifford, the capital of such part of Sir George Hugh Charles Clifford's estate as provided his income, was now vested in Beatrice Mary Macdonald, Mary Edith Douglas, and Helen Mary Sapio, or whether it was to be added to the three-fifths share the income of which was held in trust for the three daughters of the testator. The plaintiffs were Bede Burnes Loujjhnan, solicitor, and William Hayward, company manager, of Christcliurch (Mr. A." C. Brassington), and the defendants Dame Helen France* Clifford (Mr. J. H. Upham) and Beatrice Mary Macdonald, Mary Edith Douglas, and Helen Mary Sapio (Mr. D. E. Wahklyn), daughters of the testator. Mr. R. J. Loughnan appeared for the grandchildren of the testator.
