WORLD'S HIDES MARKET.

Reporting on the market for hides, Messrs. W. Weddel and Company write under date August 13:— . The demand for hides has diminished somewhat since we issued our last report, and it has been impossible, therefore, to maintain the price level for fngormco ox hides. Packers have sold at a decline of 2 pesos, that, is, 71 pesos, equal to 5 9-16 d. and defective ox hides at; w pesos, equal to oVid. But even so, tn is no question of any accumulation eitn at Buenos Aires or at Montevideo. It-is not likely that there will be any serious setback, but the market will be fairly quiet over the next week or two on account of holidays.. The American p tion is a little difficult to understand. The futures market has indicated weakness; it was thought that extra kilm? would be done—firstly because of drofflM conditions, and secondly because or shortage of feeding stuffs ana the sequent high price of the latter.
