TAUMARUNUI PRICES. YOUNG CATTLE SELL WELL. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. There was a good attendance of farmers and buyers at the Taumarunui stock sale to-day, when 500 sheep, 100 pigs and 150 head of cattle were offered. The pig prices showed no improvement on last sale, but there was a good demand for sheep and young cattle. The best weaner pigs made 13/4, and good stores sold up to 25/6. There was spirited bidding for a pen of 93 fresh full-mouth ewes with 100 per cent of lambs, and £2 2/ was the price realised. Ewe hoggets made from 34/9 to 37/, and wether hoggets sold up to 24/6. There was almost a total absence of fat cattle, but store bullocks and young cattle were yarded in fairly large numbers. The best itorc bullocks made £8 2/6 and two-year-old steers sold up to £5 7/. Aber-deen-Angus cows, in calf to A.A. bull, £6 5/, and run cows in calf to Shorthorn bulj made £4. The best dairy cows made £7 ID/. Quotations: — Pigs.—Weaners, 9/ to 13/G; small stores, 15/ to 17/: large stores, 20/ to 25/6; young sows, 27/. Sheep.—Fresh full-mouth ewes, with 100 per cent lambs, £2 2/; other ewes in lamb, 31/; ewe hoggets, 34/9 to 37/; wether hoggets, 23/6 to 24/6; fat wethers, 25/6. Cattle. —Fat cows, £4 15/; grown store bullocks, £7 10/ to £8 2/6; three-year-old Shorthorn steers, £4 7/6 to £5 7/6; two-year-okl steers, £5 2/6 to £5 10/; 18month to 2 1 /&-year-old steers, small, £4 1/; empty heifers, £3 14/; empty cows, £3 5/ to £3 15/; cows in calf to P.A. bull, £5 10/ to £6 5/: heifers in calf to P.A. bull, £3 15/ to £4 5/; cows in calf to Shorthorn bull, £4; bulls. £3 15/ to £7 10/; springing cows, in calf, £4 7/6; Jersey-cross cows, early calvers, £7 15/; sound cows, in milk, £5.

WAIOTIRA STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. At their Waiotira stock sale yesterday Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having a full entry of good quality cattle. All lines had a ready market and a total clearance was effected at full late rates. Several lines of prime quality cow and heifer beef sold under keen competition at high prices. Prime fat Hereford heifers made to £10 8/; prime heavy fat cows, to £10 10/; other good cows, £7 15/ to £8 7/; lighter prime cows, £6 10/ to £7; light fat heifers, £5 17/ to £6; fleshy cows, £4 3/ to £4 11/; Shorthorn store cows, £4 1/ to £4 7/; lighter conditioned, £3 12/ to £3 19/; boner cows, £'2 5/ to £2 11/; three-year good quality Shorthorn 6teers, £7 8/; two and three-year Shorthorn steers, £5 14/ to £5 19/; small yearling Shorthorn steers, £3 10/; medium yearling Shorthorn heifers, £2 16/; cows with small calves, £3 8/; two-year-old springing Shorthorn heifers, £5 to £5 12/6; springing Jersey heifers, £4 7/6 to £5 7/6; smaller, £3 5/ to £4; aged sound Hereford bulls, £4 5/.
