TAUMARUNUI PRICES. YOUNG CATTLE SELL WELL. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. There was a good attendance of farmers and buyers at the Taumarunui stock sale to-day, when 500 sheep, 100 pigs and 150 head of cattle were offered. The pig prices showed no improvement on last sale, but there was a good demand for sheep and young cattle. The best weaner pigs made 13/4, and good stores sold up to 25/6. There was spirited bidding for a pen of 93 fresh full-mouth ewes with 100 per cent of lambs, and £2 2/ was the price realised. Ewe hoggets made from 34/9 to 37/, and wether hoggets sold up to 24/6. There was almost a total absence of fat cattle, but store bullocks and young cattle were yarded in fairly large numbers. The best itorc bullocks made £8 2/6 and two-year-old steers sold up to £5 7/. Aber-deen-Angus cows, in calf to A.A. bull, £6 5/, and run cows in calf to Shorthorn bulj made £4. The best dairy cows made £7 ID/. WAIOTIRA STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. At their Waiotira stock sale yesterday Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having a full entry of good quality cattle. All lines had a ready market and a total clearance was effected at full late rates. Several lines of prime quality cow and heifer beef sold under keen competition at high prices.
