BEAN RACE.

Fill two bowls with ordinary beans, placing them at one end of the room. Put two empty bowls at the other end of the room. Divide guests into two groups and give each guest a soda straw. In turn, a player from each side tries to pick up a bean from the bowl with the straw, and, by holding his breath, endeavours to carry it clinging to the end of the straw to the empty bowl. This causes a great deal-of laughter, whereby a great many beans are lost. After all the guests have finished, count the beans deposited in the separate bowls to find which side won.
