HEAVY ENTRIES FOR "S" COMPETITION.

The Crocodile Swallows Careless Work Budgetites apparently found it an easy task to find the number of articles beginning with the letter S in the competition conducted in these pages recently. Entries continued to pour into the office until the last minute of the closing date, and many good efforts were submitted. Caryll von Sturmer, of Takapuna, who gains first place with 75 articles, had an original uncorrected list of 78. By the time the judge s blue pencil had gone through them, many lists were considerably reduced. In many cases an entry containing a mistake in spelling was disqualified, and this same rule applied to those who submitted '\jerbs instead of nouns.
