RETURN SEASON.
« THE NEW MOON » AGAIN. The outstanding success of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society's production "The New Moon" has enabled the management to announce a brief return season on Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3, when three -final presentations of the musical romance will be given. A wonderful demonstration of appreciation was given by the audience at last evening's closing performance of the first season, taking the form of a most generous offering of floral tributes and gifts. In response to insistent calls, Mr. Stan Lawson, the producer, made a happy speech, and the night closed on a high note of enthusiasm. Those who saw the play during its season at His Majesty's were unanimous in its praise, not only as a production, but also for the merit of the players and the quality of the singing and dancing. There can be no doubt that the Operatic Society has managed to capture much of the leading talent of the city. All the favourite numbers, particularly "Girl on the Prow," "Lover Come Back to Me" and "Stout-hearted Men," are presented with an artistry that is a distinct credit to the producer and all who are associated with him in the training of the cast.
