LEEK AND BACON PIE.
Here is a recipe of Devonshire origin and is a very tasty dish for anyone who cares for leeks: . • Clean, and cut in rings six large leeks. Pour boiling water over them and strain. Place in piedish with a cup of stock oi water. Cut pieces of bacon small and place on top. Bring to boil and simmer gently for one hour (covered with a lid). -Make - a short pastry,, brown in oven. Beat two or three eggs with a little milk. When cooked ■ lift pastry, pour ei-enly over top, put back and cook. Serve hot. Pepper and salt to taste.
