PRICE OF MILK.
Many letters have appeared in the papers about the raising of milk priced from -lit to 5d per quart by the Milk Council, stating that the farmer and vendor have been considered, but not the consumer. 1 would like to show the extra profit in the pound: Farmers receive 3/3 extra in f; vendors, (id in £; Milk Council, ad in £. And after allowing each vendor to lo.se one gallon on account of customers economising, the vendor's fid has disappeared. The vendor and farmer arc the only tradesmen who work 3(if> days a year in all weathers, and the vendor has not profited by the nee of 4d per gallon. 365 DAYS A YEAR.
