GUN ACCIDENT.
OPOTIKI MAN INJURED. OPERATION IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this day. Mr. Frank Young, a single man, son of Mr. A. Young, of Opotiki, was admitted to the Public Hospital yesterday suffering from gunshot wounds. Hβ was in a car with his brother and they were being followed by another car with two other young men. The first party stopped at Hukuwai Beach and got out of the car to cross a paddock. As Mr. T. Moody was getting out of the other car his gun, which was loaded, caught on the car door and went off, Frank Young receiving the full force of the shot in both thighs and legs. The injured man was immediately taken to hospital, where an operation was performed.
