AUCKLAND CLUB. The tenth annual series of -winter competitions of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club commenced on Saturday in the Outer Domain, when -'000 vards steeplechase, 75 yards sprint, discus throwing and shot putting contests were held in the presence of a good attendance. The members were welcomed by the president, Mr. \V. Morton, who presented a gold niPdal, donated by Mr. H. W. Brien, to J. W. Savidan, in commemoration of his record-breaking performance at the Empire champions' meeting. Kesults : — 75 Yards. —First heat: R. H. Pow 1, J. Prendergast 2, H. S. Roper 3. Time, 8 l-ss.
