TAURANGA NOTES.
Miss Thelma Sinedley left for Auckland on Friday, whore she will spend a fortnight visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Munro spent the week-end , in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. J. Steele, Topcroft, with their two daughters, Evelyn and Joan, are motoring , to Auckland for the school holidays. Mrs. Ross Clark has taken her two little «irls to Te Kawa for the vacation. They left on Saturday morning and will be away for a fortnight. Other holidaymakers are Miss X. Macinillan and Miss Ferna Gaminan, who are motoring to Auckland to-day. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Keeley, of "Oaklands," Cambridge, who spent a week in Tauranga at Hotel Roslyn, left on Friday for Rotorua, where they will spend the week-end before returning home. A party of interest to a wide circle of friends was held on Tuesday last at "Kawhiti," Third Avenue, to celebrate the eighty-eighth birthday of Mrs. A. H. Xorris, who has been a resident of Ta'.iranga for (J7 years. Mrs. Norris was born in Auckland and came to Tauranga immediately after her marriage in St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, to the late Captain B. G. Norris. During supper Mrs. Xorris lit one large candle in the centre of the birthday cake which was glowing with the light from 88 smaller candles. Miss Snodgrass, of Te Puna, a very old friend, proposed the health of the guest of honour, Mr. Gregory Norris replying on behalf of his mother. Those present included: Mesdames C. J. Millar. F. W. Norris (Auckland), G. G. Norris, CramerRoberts, H. H. Clewson, Cairns, Robbie, J. A. Jordan, Misses Snodgrass (Te Puna), R. Norris, E. Wrigley, E. Griffiths, K. Jordan, Nancy Nofris, Betty Page (Auckland), and Mr. G. G. Norris. On Wednesday afternoon a reception was held for those who were unable to attend the previous evening, the guests including Mrs. Eleanor Jordan, Mrs. T. .C. Allely (Auckland), Mrs. Leslie and Miss Allely.
