bowlers disappointed. (By Telegraph.—"Own Correspondent.) . ROTORUA, this day. Sir Joseph Ward, accompanied by Mr. G. A. Jeffery, his private secretary, returned from Wellington yesterday. Fishing at Okataina yesterday, Mrs. Niel of Svdney, landed a 12-pounder trout, which a taxidermist is rendering as far as possible imperishable. A large number of men are now workin* on the Guthrie settlement, oO being employed in improving the Atiamuri Road and 40 the Whirinaki access road. Indignation was expressed on Sunday by 30 or 40 bowlers who had assembled in the Government Gardens in the expectation of a game of bowls in the afternoon. There were no facilities provided and eventually they learnt that games are not allowed unless thero is a week-end.excursion. .. . The Native Appellate Court sits in Rotorua on March 18, under Chief Judge R. V. Jones and another.
