WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

SLOANE—MEGSON. On Wednesday, February 1, a very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Catholic Church, Remoera, when Miss Myrtle Megson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Megson, of Remuera, was married to Mr. Leslie Sloane, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Sloane, Whangarei. The Rev. Father Bradley officiated. Tne bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed most becomingly in «ory crepe de chine daintily trimmed with Chilian lace. The embroidered veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of pale pink sweet-peas, white asters and maiden-hair fern. Miss Jean Whitford acted «s bridesmaid, her dress being pale blue crepe de chine and gold lace. The pale tulle veil was held in place by a band of silver leaves, her bouquet consisting of pink sweet-peas and blue streamers. Little Doreen Sinfield, friend of the bride, acted as flower-giri, wearing cream net lace over pale pink crepe de chine, and carried a small posy of pink sweet-peas. Her neat little headdress consisted of silver leaves. Master Colin Megson, brother of the bride, attended as page, wearing black velvet with cream lace and carried a silver' wand. Mr. Jack Barnes attended as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception traS held. The happy couple were recipients, of the best wishes of their many friends, as well as many telegrams from all parts of the Dominion.

CAHILL—BARNES. St. Matthew's Church was the setting of a pretty wedding yesterday afternoon, when Ruby Evelyn Barnes, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Barnes, of Hinuera, became the wife of Mr. William Cahill, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Cahill. The iiride, who was given away by her father, was a dainty "figure in shell pink chiffon georgette, made in the slightly early period, petalled border, with wide silver lace hem. A large medallion of rose petals in chiffon with silver leaves was placed on the centre of the waist line, and one on the shoulder, with strands of silver leaves. A billowy pink tulle veil was held in place by a niching of tulle across the back of the head, with small trailers of orange blossom with true lovers' knots*of silver gauze. The shower bouqnet was made of pink and white lilies, with long pink tulle streamers. There were two bridesmaids, Miss Isabel Wright, in apricot chiffon, with an overdress of the same coloured lace, crinoline and silk petal hat, shaded orange bouquet, with apricot tulle streamers, and Miss Blanche Cahill (sister of the bridegroom) pastel blue over silver, taffeta shaded blue hat, with blue and pink bouquet. Mr. Ray Smith was best man, Mr. Stanley Keys acting as groomsman. A large reception was held at the Domain Kiosk, which was specially decorated with beautiful foliage. The bride's mother received the guests in amethyst bengaline, black hat with osprey mount. The bridegroom's mother wore bo is de rose crepe de chine, with black lace overdress, hat and bouquet to tone.
