The supply of egg 3at the present time is not eqnal to the demand, and consequently the price has been advanced to three shillings per dozen. The wholesale rate for factory butter remains at 1/63 per lb for superfine, 1/0 for nrs,t grade, and 1/5 for second grade for net cash. The retail rate is 1/9, 1/8, and i/, per ib for the respective grades, cash across the counter, and for farmers' DUtter up to 1/4 per lb. Cheese is quoted at from l/i to 1/4 per lb retail, according to maturity. Whole hams are offered retail at from 1/1 to 1/3 per lb and ■ «» ,1/9. The annual report of Kemptaorne ■Prosser and Co.'s New Zealand Dru~ Co* states that the unappropriated balance brought forward from profit and loss account last year was £17.871, and the net prone iorj tins year f-12 25° a total of £00,123, less interim dividend"*for half year to July 31, 1923, at 4 per cent, £16,000, leaving to be dealt with £44.123.
