CHEAPER LIVING.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I would like to offer some advice to "War Bride" and others, who find the cost of necessities a severe strain. 'Form a club of five neighbours, and one go every week to the City Markets and buy : a case of fruit, a cwt. of potatoes, and > the nccessarv vegetables. Apples run at ' 2.} dto 3d lb, retil price would be 6d; j potatoes 10/ or 11/ a cwt. I also find < fruit is not damaged or knocked about as much buying in the market as retail. ' This makes a great saving even for a : small family. It is necessary to make terms with the nearest carrier to bring j the stuff every week, and if you couldj get two or three more clubs of five inj> the same locality a carrier would be very] reasonable in his charges. The markets i have been built out of your money, sop why not take full advantage of them?— ! I am, etc, CHEAPER LIVING. I
