A "MIRACULOUS" KERCHIEF.
Considerable stir has been caused among pious people in France by the story of a miracle which has occurred in their midst. It is said that a poor woman went to the cemetery to pray for the dead. In leaving she came across a stone statue of the Holy Virgin all covered with lichen moss. "Oh, my nnhappy St. Mary," she exclaimed, "how neglected you seem." Drawing out her handkerchief she removed the lichen and cleansed the sacred Image. Suddenly she was conscious of a message which told her the handkerchief was blessed. She hastened home, where her little daughter had been lying stricken for some months by paralysis. Mere contact with the miraculous linen was sufficient to effect a cure and restore activity to the palsied limbs. Processions of pilgrims are now said to ba visiting the Madonna's statue.
