FINAL DATS SHOOTING. FIFTY FIRE FOE THE TROPHY. (By- Telegraph.—Press Association.) TRENTHAM, this day. . The final day's shopting at Trentham started to-day. The weather promised to be fine, but the sky soon clouded oyer, and the wind increased in volume. Proceedings commenced with the service championship, for the 50 highest scorers in 'service matches. Montgomery (Dunedin) was then leading with 225, next in order being Mct'alruont 222, Rummer 219, Maseneld 210, and Sandford 216. The opening shoot, 200 yards, five shots at head target, four seconds exposure, ; each hit, counting seven points, saw some changing in the positions. Sandford (Hutty, McAlister, and Halmshaw •registered possibles, and Montgomery dropped 14 points, McCalmont 7, and Masefield 28, while Kummer failed to score-at all. Sandford was thus now one point in lead, which he increased. At the next range, 500 yards, 10 shojts, rapid firing, Yeo put on 45 and Sandford and Masefield 41. Sandford now leads McCalmont by 4 pointe—292 to 288—with Montgomery (274) lying next. McCalmont shot with the first squad and put on 20. • Wanting 17 to win, Sandford easily aecompli«died the task, putting on 22. The prise-list is as follows:—£10, Sandford (Christchurch), 314; £8, McCalmont (Opaki), 308; £5, Montgomery '(Dunedin), 292; £3 10/ each, Yeo (Auckland), Hunt (Suburbs), 288; £2 each,. Masefield (Sounds)', 287; Devore (Auckland), 283; McAlister (June*), 282; Ryder (Okawa), 280; Narbey (Eltbam), 273. ' THE. KYNOCH CUP. Sandford also holds possession of the Kynoch Cup for one year. The Premier and Mrs Massey will attend the King's prize competition, and Mrs Maesey will present the prizes. UNITED SERVICE MATCH. The United Service Match, 10 men aside, seven shots each 300, 500, and 600 yds, was won 'by the rifle club team •with a score of 888, the Territorials scoring 846, and the staff team 835. This match carries the Dawson Shield and £10 in cash.
