FORD SHIPPING LINE
Mr R. C. Carr, auctioneer, offered for sale at his mart, Swanson Street, at noon today, six scows of the Ford Shipping Company. . There was a large attendance, between 50 and 60 being present. The Kararoa was started at £1000, and passed in when £1800 had been .reached. . The Moa, 89 tons gross, was withdrawn, after the bidding had reached £1500. and the Rangi, 86 tons gross, was passed in-at £1100. The bidding was better for the smaller vessels, and the last three offered found purchasers! 'The well knov-n scow Wanderer, 85 tons gross, was bought by Mr A. R. Allison for £750. The Welcome was secured by Cunningham and Co. for £600; and the Seagull, 82 tons gross, went to Mr George Nlccol for : £ 310.' ~..
