It also asked the Board to write to the Minister of Mines, advl«lng re-construction' of the Board. Mr Heaketh, in supporting the letter, said that all the members were representatives of companies, and each tried to do the best for his. own company. Mr Kissllng did not think the Board should move in the matter of its re-construction. The ouestlon would probably be forwarded to them by the Minister for Mines, and it could then be discussed. He thought that the assessments should be made by. Independent persons. This should be Imperative not optional, as at present. On the ■motion of Mr Gordon it was decided that SonsideratJon of the matter be left until «mch time as notice was got from the Govprnrientln relation to the matter.
