The voters in this districb started in real earnest as soon aa the booths opened to record their votes. In Onehunga, at aa early hour, the Returning Officer gave the.results as follows:—O'Rorke, 339 j Buckland, 207; Grant, 0. In Otahuhu jfche day was quiet. Mr S. Luke and Mr Dixon, , with a strong Committee, worked for Sir Maurice, whilst Mr Buckland's friends alee did their utmost, with the result that when the voles were totted up the Returning, Officer announced the numbers—Buckland, 163; O'Rorke, 126; Grant, 0. The returns from tho country districts came id very early, Panmure polling 2 to 1 *<* Buckland, Howick following suit. Man«*v rewa polled 26 to 3 for Buckland.
