COMMERCIAL.

FROM THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Christchurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. The past week has been one of unusual quietness, and unproductive of anything requiring special comment. In the absence of transactions with growers, operations hava been chiefly confined to shipping, in fulfilment.of orders, in which a fair amount of business lias been done. Wheat, —The value of milling remains unchanged, and any offering readily commands 6s 3d to 6s fid. Grown samples are worth, according to quality, from 3s to 4s, but buyers are not so anxious to purchase in the face of the lower English advices. Oats continue in good request, both for feeding and milling sorts. We quote good feed 2s Bd. A considerable line has changed hands for export at a price withheld, but which, we understand, is satisfactory. Barley is unchanged. Potatoes during the week have been shipped in large quantities. We have no alteration to report in value, 45s being given for them. Flour. —A good business has been done in this, and the orders to hand are considerable. Guaranteed is worth £16 and £17. Bran and Sharps are all taken as soon as made. Dairy Prodi'OE. —Butter and cheese attract little attention ; 9d and s|d are the prices ruling.
